Eruption

Eruption, 2001, oil on linen, exhibited as part of Natural disasters at Marios, Fitzroy
The night was brilliantly lit
as the volcano erupted.
Fire jetted into the blackness
and a glowing tongue of lava
licked its flank.

Volcano run

Volcano run, 2001, oil on linen, exhibited as part of Natural disasters at Marios, Fitzroy

The exhilaration of running
pell mell down a slope together,
of strength,
of movement,
of living and loving.

Blind Alley

Blind Alley,  2000, oil on linen, exhibited as part of Spaces between at Marios, Fitzroy

I walk past the lane on my way to a cafe.
Every time I go by, I glance in,
at the space, at the sky above,
at the textures and objects,
even the battered concrete bollard at the entrance.

Evening swing

Evening swing,  2000, oil on linen, exhibited as part of Spaces between at Marios, Fitzroy
There’s something about swinging
up as high as you can go,
especially at dusk.

Strange metal cubes

Strange metal cubes,  2000, oil on linen, exhibited as part of Spaces between at Marios, Fitzroy
How fun is it,
chasing one another around and around.
The excitement, t
he tension.
To be the one who catches,
to not be the one who gets caught.
To be the one on the outside,
watching the fun and games.

Lovin Leap

Lovin Leap, 2000, oil on linen, exhibited as part of Spaces between at Marios, Fitzroy
A space to cross,
a void to avoid,
a leap of faith,
of love,
to love.

Open arms

Open arms, 2000, oil on linen, exhibited as part of Spaces between at Marios, Fitzroy

Looks a bit like rain,
and here’s me under-dressed
and baring my soul.

The Uptop Incident

The Uptop Incident, 2000, oil on linen,
exhibited  as part of Spaces between at Marios, Fitzroy

Invisible space,
deliveries and waste,
no short cut to anywhere.

Alleys are used for emergency relief
and the dumping of noxious waste.
