oblivious.

Twister

Twister, 2001, oil on linen, exhibited as part of Natural disasters at Marios, Fitzroy


The twisting vortex touches the ground.
No damage, no harm here.
The only built things, the straight highway,
the dry irrigation gully it crosses,
impervious to the raging wind.





Crossing paths

Running.
In bare feet.
Feeling the earth, 
the hot sand and stones.
Stretching out, 
picking up speed.


And, when you least expect it,
a chance encounter.

Running after the red dog


Running after the red dog, 2000, acrylic and pen on paper,
exhibited as part of Works on paper at Marios in 2002


Crunching of boots,
pounding hearts,
panting, gasping,
each breath a billowing cloud,
through swirling snow. 



We hardly see, 
but the red dog is there, 
always ahead, 
our beacon,
leading us home.

most of our skin,
a couple of hot pistols
and the car.

There’s not much shade around here.
This spot is cool.
And its my favourite flavour.



The sky clear and bright.
The sand is hot.
Come sundown, I’m off for a bite and a drink.
But for now this is just fine.
Sweet.


Leggo lookout

Having a look over the top of the piece of leggo 
was one of the coolest things to do on the plain. 

Its funny how much difference that small elevation made, 
how much further you could see.
