The gate was left open

The gate was left open, 1993, oil on linen, exhibited as part of The Great Guinea Pig Massacre at the Continental Cafe, Prahran
The full moon floods the backyard with lovely silver light. It washes over the Hills Hoist, over the garden beds and over the tree up in the corner that the boy of the house virtually lives in. It illuminates the strange shapes on the lawn that are the guinea pig hutches the dad made. It spills down through the side gate and into the front yard.
